Cookie Notice
1. About this notice
This Cookie Notice explains how Low Observable Technology Ltd (“LO:TECH,” “we,” “us,” “our”) and (where relevant) all entities within the LO:TECH Group use Cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, tags and local storage) on https://lo.tech/ (“our Site”), and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy & Cookie Policy, which explains our wider use of personal data and our Regulatory and Legal Notice.
2. What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device and, in some cases, remember information about your visit. References to “Cookies” in this notice include similar technologies that store or access information on your device.
3. First-party and third-party Cookies
First-party Cookies are set directly by us and used only by us, to operate the Site and understand how it is used.
Third-party Cookies are set by other organisations whose services or content appear on our Site (for example, analytics, video or social media providers). We do not control these Cookies, and we recommend you check the relevant third party’s own privacy and cookie policies.
4. Categories of Cookies we use
(a) Essential/Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are required for the Site to function and cannot be turned off. You can block them via your browser settings, but parts of the Site may not work properly if you do.
(b) Analytics/Performance Cookies
These help us understand how visitors use the Site (pages visited, time on site, error messages), so we can improve it, and to better understand whether users can find what they are looking for and reach where they need to be quickly enough.
(c) Functionality Cookies
These remember the choices you make (such as cookie banner preferences or display settings) to provide a more personalised experience.
(d) Targeting/Third-Party Cookies
These Cookies record your visit to the Site, the pages you visited and the links you have followed, and will only be used to make the Site and any advertising displayed on it more relevant to you.
5. Our consent banner
When you first visit our Site, you will see a cookie banner before any non-essential Cookie is set. The banner will offer:
– an Accept All button;
– a Reject All button, given equal visual prominence; and
– a Manage Preferences (or equivalent) option, allowing you to switch each non-essential category on or off individually.
No box for a non-essential category will be pre-ticked. Strictly necessary Cookies are not offered as a toggle, since they do not require consent, but are listed for transparency. Your choice is recorded (itself via a strictly necessary Cookie, see Section 4(a)) and will be honoured for 12 months, after which you will be asked again. You can change your preferences at any time via a persistent “Cookie Settings” link in the Site footer, without needing to clear your browser or wait for the banner to reappear.
Declining non-essential Cookies will not restrict your ability to browse the Site, read our research, or contact us.
6. Browser controls
In addition to our banner, you can control or delete Cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all Cookies, block third-party Cookies only, or delete existing Cookies. Deleting Cookies may remove saved preferences and require you to reset choices (including your cookie consent choice) on your next visit. Consult your browser’s help documentation for instructions, as these vary by browser and device.
7. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time, in particular as our use of analytics, marketing or embedded third-party tools changes. Material changes will be reflected in an updated “last updated” date below, and, where required, we will ask for your consent again. This Cookie Notice was last updated in September 2026.
8. Contact us
Questions about this notice or our use of Cookies can be sent to dataprotection@lo.tech. Where any of these Cookies involve personal data, you also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, although we would welcome the opportunity to address your concern directly first.
